About Moonbeam (GLMR)

Moonbeam - much more than just an EVM implementation: it is a highly specialized parachain that mirrors Web3 Ethereum RPCs, accounts, keys, subscriptions, journals, and more. The Moonbeam platform extends the core Ethereum feature set with additional features such as on-chain governance, staking and cross-chain integration.

Ethereum Moonbeam compatibility is unmatched:

Minimal changes Ethereum Moonbeam compatibility is unmatched.
Use existing developer tools Connect popular tools like MetaMask, Hardhat, Waffle, Remix and Truffle with the full set of Web3 RPC endpoints. Use well-known Javascript libraries such as Web3. js or Ethers.js.
Unified accounts, addresses and signatures Use existing Ethereum H160 accounts and ECDSA signatures to interact with Moonbeam.
Use most integrations on Polkadot You can use existing oracles, bridges, wallets and other tools that are already being built on Moonbeam.

Moonbeam provides integration and connectivity between Parachains Polkadot as well as other chains such as Ethereum and Bitcoin via bridges. Moonbeam was launched in 2019 by Derek Yu of Pure Stake. Moonbeam offers an Ethereum-like environment on top of Substrate. This allows developers to easily redistribute their existing smart contracts, using the same tools and integrations they already use, but also take advantage of the modern Substrate framework on which all Polkadot parachains are built.

Platform features

Moonbeam Network was founded by Derek Yu, CEO of PureStake, a platform that provides a secure and reliable public blockchain infrastructure to blockchain application developers, projects and enterprises. Stefan Mehlhorn, early-stage operations and management specialist, is the COO of Moonbeam and PureStake. Stefan has previously worked with Samsung Pay, Candibell Inc., LoopPay, Permessa, Thinking Phone Network and others. Kathy Butler and Nate Hamilton of PureStake lead the Moonbeam Network's marketing and business development teams, respectively.

Tokenomics and security

Moonbeam's native token, known as Glimmer (GLMR), was released through a private community event, called Take Flight. During the Moonbeam community event, 1 million GLMRs (10% of the total supply) have been released. There are a total of 1 billion GLMR tokens with an annual inflation rate of 5%, such as an unlimited supply of tokens. The best cryptocurrency exchanges to trade Moonbeam shares currently are:

  • Binance;
  • Mandala Exchange;
  • Huobi Global;
  • KuCoin;
  • Gate.io.

The Moonbeam project is on the path of decentralized governance. The utility, Glimmer (GLMR), will serve as a gateway for network members to access vital network functions.
