With full ownership of their in-game assets, members control the in-game economy of Mines of Dalarnia. The value of an asset is determined by supply and demand, all of which are controlled by how players interact with the game. Mines of Dalarnia offer two roles to participate in the game: miners and owners of LAND. To start mining, players must move their miner to the specific Earth they want to interact with. Travel between planets and navigate their surface with the Navigator, a free feature that requires real time to complete. Once players are in the LAND they want to dig in, they must also select a Depth.
Each piece of equipment has a power level and aspect, as well as up to two random perks. To upgrade equipment, players must combine two pieces of equipment of the same type and upgrade the level. At the same time, original items are burned and a new one is minted.

The Mines of Dalarnia consists of many planets. Each planet is divided into a 40 x 40 LAND grid. Each grid square contains a unique mining area. Lots contain resources that are valuable to both miners and owners and are essential to progressing in the Mines of Dalarnia. Before mining a certain area, players need to pay an "Excavation Cost", which contains a commission in DAR, which is paid to the owner of the mine.
