About MicroBuddies

MicroBuddies reproduce asexually through a process, known as replication. MicroBuddy replication requires GOO and will create a new next generation MicroBuddy with traits inherited from its parent. Generally, the better the traits, the better the GOO production.

The MicroBuddies game world contains a number of tools that players can use to improve the performance of their MicroBuddies with each new replication. However, players should think carefully and strategically about how they use these tools, as each MicroBuddy has a finite number of replications before it becomes sterile.

The first 2500 MicroBuddies, known as Generation 0, are an extremely meager set of MicroBuddies from which the rest of the game is born. MicroBuddies

There are 10 different species of MicroBuddy, each with their own unique genealogy. Nanobiologists have classified each species of MicroBuddy by rarity, based on their abundance in Genesis and their ability to produce GOO. Each kind of MicroBuddy is essentially its own individual game with a common denominator between all kinds of GOO. The MicroBuddy genome is made up of traits. Dominant traits determine MicroBuddy's appearance and GOO production, while recessive traits may emerge as dominant in the next MicroBuddy replication.

Traits have two levels of rarity. The first level is determined by its rarity class, which consists of:

1. General (green).
2. Rare (blue).
3. Legendary (orange).
4. Exalted (purple).

The second level is determined by the trait ID. The higher the trait ID, the higher the rarity. Mutations are additional traits that combine other traits and can only be obtained through replication. They produce more GOO than any other trait in the game.

In an effort to keep MicroBuddy's rapid reproduction under control, nanobiologists have created a special process that can kill your MicroBuddy. To initiate it, you will need at least two MicroBuddies. Firstly, a target buddy that will be burned in exchange for 1% of all GOOs they have produced in their lifetime (minimum reward: 1 GOO). Secondly, the character who will receive the GOO, minted from the target.

Any GOO for which the recipient does not have the bandwidth will not be minted. This can be an effective way to remove infertile MicroBuddies or reduce certain generations. However, even the most useless MicroBuddies can become valuable collectibles.
