Binance has achieved a significant milestone by successfully completing the demanding SOC 2 Type II compliance audit, underscoring its commitment to upholding the highest security standards in the cryptocurrency industry. The audit, conducted by the independent firm A-LIGN, subjected Binance's security infrastructure to a meticulous evaluation, with a particular focus on the effectiveness of system protection and data security measures. The positive outcome of this audit not only affirms the robust design of Binance's security protocols but also ensures their practical implementation in day-to-day operations.
Chief Security Officer at Binance, Jimmy Su, emphasized the dedication of substantial resources and effort to showcase that cryptocurrency platforms can not only meet but also surpass the stringent standards prevalent in traditionally regulated industries. This accomplishment follows Binance's recent attainment of ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications, recognizing outstanding information security governance and privacy information management in four jurisdictions: France, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Turkey.
Prior to this latest achievement, Binance had already completed the SOC 2 Type I audit in March, laying the groundwork for the more comprehensive Type II audit. In September, OKX also successfully underwent the SOC 2 Type II audit. Binance's heightened focus on compliance and regulations comes in the wake of a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice last month, demonstrating its commitment to transparency and earning the trust of its extensive user base.
