BitTorrent announced the release of BTFS V3.0 Heisenberg on the mainnet. The update includes many user-friendly features, enhancing user experience, efficiency, and network security. BitTorrent has implemented support for symmetric encryption to meet various user needs. As a result of community discussions on BTIP-72, export and import of key storage files are now allowed, simplifying management and increasing node security.
BitTorrent has thoroughly redesigned network connections for more efficient data transmission. The update supports batch withdrawals on multiple nodes, simplifying the mining process and improving its efficiency. The network also highlighted the importance of the BTFS protocol and the development of decentralized networks. From June 25, a significant change in BTT storage rewards will take effect: the total daily storage reward will decrease to 7.5 billion BTT tokens. Node operators are advised to update their nodes by June 25.
BTFS, or BitTorrent File System, is a web application and protocol that provides a P2P mechanism for sharing and storing digital content in a decentralized system, as well as serving as a foundational platform for dApps. The BTFS team is working on new network operations and considers market sentiments to make dynamic adjustments, such as distribution reward schemes and upload prices.
