Launch of Spectrum by Kroma with Expansion Plans
Kroma has introduced Spectrum, a new staking service that is set to transform the Ethereum Layer-2 ecosystem. Spectrum will kick off on May 14, 2024, offering users the opportunity to stake ETH, stETH, and eETH for increased earnings in the DeFi sector.
The unveiling of Spectrum marks a significant development in DeFi as it brings the spETH token, designed for synthetic assets, to the market. Users can use spETH to boost liquidity of their staked Ethereum assets, access various trading options, and increase earnings through DeFi protocols and applications.
The platform has gained popularity by partnering with top decentralized applications (dApps) like Standard Protocol, Light Bank, Layer Bank, Shoebill, Zapanki Swap, Wellxy, PrixmSwap, and iZUMi Finance. This integration sets the stage for future collaborations as Spectrum aims to include more dApps in the future.
To differentiate itself from traditional staking platforms, Spectrum introduces the innovative 'Hexa Reward' feature, offering six rewards including Ethereum APR, restaking rewards, EigenLayer Points, Etherfi loyalty points, KSP (Kroma Spectrum Point), and a wemix.e airdrop. Kroma plans to airdrop 40,000 wemix.e tokens to users based on accumulated KSP, providing a unique restaking reward.
Participants in the Spectrum ecosystem earn KSP, which can be obtained by holding spETH or participating in spETH-related services and games on Kroma. KSP can later be exchanged for KRO tokens once they are available.
To celebrate the launch, Spectrum will host a two-week early access event with double KSP points to increase rewards for stakers. Kroma continues its commitment to collaborating with high-quality projects to expand the Spectrum ecosystem.
Spectrum, Kroma's native staking solution, allows for high payouts through restaking and engagement with staking tokens in various games and DeFi ecosystems on Kroma. Operating on the Layer-2 blockchain platform, Kroma addresses scalability issues associated with Ethereum while maintaining security and decentralization. Initially using an Optimistic Rollup with zkEVM, Kroma will transition to a full ZK Rollup model.
