Ripple has resumed the minting of its stablecoin RLUSD after 49 days of inactivity, issuing 19 million tokens in the past 48 hours.
19 Million RLUSD Minted Following Hiatus
Nineteen million RLUSD have been minted at the Treasury, marking the resumption of minting in the ecosystem. The first batch of 12 million RLUSD was minted on June 13, 2025, followed by another 7 million in the early hours of June 14.
Decrease in RLUSD Trading Volume
However, amid the resumed minting, trading volume of RLUSD in the stablecoin market plummeted by 68.96%, amounting to $62.26 million. This drop in volume seems unaffected by the resumption of minting.
Strategic Positioning for Market Recovery?
Despite the weak short-term demand, Ripple Treasury's decision to mint an additional 19 million RLUSD at this time could be strategic. This may be calculated for anticipated demand recovery when geopolitical tensions stabilize.
In the long term, Ripple's strategic positions in processing its stablecoin may influence the market following its recovery.
