The Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport announces the acceptance of AED stablecoin payments for taxi services, marking a step towards digital transformation in transport.
Agreement on AED Coin Acceptance
An agreement was signed between the Integrated Transport Center (ITC) and Al Maryah Community Bank, known as MBank. This collaboration allows for digital payments via AE Coin for taxi services, providing secure and convenient payment options.
Digital Transformation in the Transport Sector
Ghena Jbour, General Manager of Abu Dhabi Tawasul Transport, noted that the introduction of the AED Coin stablecoin aims to simplify the payment process and expand the functionality of offered services. She stated: CITE_W_A “This is in line with Abu Dhabi’s vision of building a smart and sustainable transport system. We will continue working to expand these solutions to cover additional services in the future.”
AE Coin Accepted by Air Arabia
Air Arabia has become the first airline in the MENA region to accept AED Coin for flight bookings. Passengers can use the AEC Wallet application to book their flights.
