Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson commented on serious allegations regarding the misuse of $600 million in ADA tokens, proposing an audit.
Allegations of $600 Million Misuse
The allegations against Input Output Global (IOG), the company responsible for Cardano development, were first raised in May. A community member claimed that Hoskinson used a 'genesis key' to alter the Cardano ledger, allowing him to seize control of funds during the Allegra hard fork in 2021. Hoskinson strongly rejected these claims, calling them baseless, and stated that the unclaimed tokens were donated to Intersect after years of inactivity.
Plans for Conducting an Audit
Hoskinson stated that the audit process is moving swiftly and announced plans to livestream the report's release. A dedicated website will also be created to host related documentation.
Potential Legal Action
Hoskinson confirmed he is meeting with a defamation law firm to explore possible responses to the public accusations and to protect his reputation.
The situation surrounding Cardano has become a topic of discussion in the crypto community, and the outcome of the audit could significantly impact IOG's reputation and that of its founder.
