The incorporation of AI in these devices improves on the user interface through the utilization of smart features that have the ability to learn from the user. For instance, Samsung’s smart washing machines can adapt washing times and water usage depending on the type of load and the fabric. Additionally, their smart air conditioners can change their operations depending on the number of people in a room and the weather outside.
In Samsung’s sales, there is an increasing interest in AI-powered washing machines and robot vacuum cleaners. Between May and July of 2024, sales of the two categories accounted for more than 90% of the total AI-powered home appliance sales in Korea. Samsung’s most recent Jet Bot AI robot vacuum demonstrates the kind of sophistication that customers want. These vacuum cleaners are able to recognize objects, identify the type of stain, and control the cleaning mode.
