Alephium, a Swiss Layer 1 blockchain, offers innovative solutions in security, scalability, and user experience.
The Human Face of Alephium: Maud Bannwart
Maud Bannwart joined Alephium even before the project became public. Today, she coordinates legal aspects, manages partnerships, and participates in conferences. Her cross-functional profile aids in addressing user and developer needs. "I was the first non-developer to join the team," she shares.
Danube Update: Significant Improvements
The Danube update represents Alephium's most ambitious evolution to date. It makes the protocol faster and easier for developing complex applications. Key features include reducing block time to 8 seconds and achieving performance of over 20,000 transactions per second. "We want users to no longer see the complexity of sharding," summarizes Maud.
Ecological Proof-of-Less-Work
Alephium responds to the criticism of Proof-of-Work's energy consumption with an innovative approach: Proof-of-Less-Work, which reduces environmental impact while maintaining network security. "If Bitcoin used our model, it would consume 87% less energy," notes Maud.
Alephium builds a coherent alternative to traditional blockchains, focusing on security, scalability, and user experience. The project aims to position itself as a leader in smart contracts based on Proof-of-Work.
