Anonymous Bitcoin Whale Supports Julian Assange

Julian Assange, the cofounder of WikiLeaks, has recently received a substantial donation from an anonymous Bitcoin whale. The generous donation of eight Bitcoins, valued at around $500,000, was sent to the BTC address held by Assange's representatives.

In his latest court appearance in Saipan, Julian Assange finalized a plea agreement that marked the end of his lengthy 14-year legal battle. Following his release by a U.S. court as per the terms of the plea deal, Assange returned to Australia. Just after the 52-year-old confessed to an espionage charge in a Saipan court, he landed in Canberra.

The judge's ruling allowed Assange to depart freely. Judge Manglona's statement indicated his imminent release from the courtroom as a free individual.

Assange took a private flight from the United Kingdom to Saipan, an expense he had to cover after the plea agreement was settled. Fortunately, he swiftly received over £300,000 in fiat donations and $500,000 in Bitcoin donations from an unidentified whale.

Addressing the court, Assange highlighted his belief that the charges against him under the Espionage Act infringed upon his First Amendment rights as outlined in the U.S. Constitution. He acknowledged the potential illegality of coercing sources to disclose classified information for publication. As part of the plea agreement, Assange is required to remove the materials he provided to WikiLeaks.
