Partnership with ETH Kipu Foundation
The ETH Kipu Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting Ethereum, has partnered with the Ministry of Education in Buenos Aires to integrate blockchain technology into high school curricula. This strategic move aims to equip the next generation with the skills needed as Argentina steps towards adopting this new asset class.
Blockchain Education Program
This partnership will introduce students to the fundamentals of blockchain technology, mainly focusing on Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap. Combining theoretical and hands-on approaches, this program is anticipated to start on August 27th. Students in Buenos Aires can also participate in internships within blockchain projects and enroll in an online Solidity course. Solidity is the primary programming language used for developing Ethereum applications, and the initiative aims to train 500 students aged 18 and older.
El Salvador’s Experience
Argentina is safely following El Salvador’s crypto adoption path. Early September last year saw El Salvador, the first country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender, launch a pilot program to integrate Bitcoin education into all public schools. My First Bitcoin and the Ministry of Education spearheaded this strategic plan. Additionally, El Salvador introduced a Bitcoin certification program for 80,000 civil servants, an ambitious move implemented by the National Bitcoin Office (ONBTC) to equip government employees with a deep understanding of Bitcoin and its applications in public administration.
Argentina is confidently moving towards integrating blockchain technology into education, following the footsteps of countries like El Salvador. This move could position the country at the forefront of the global tech economy.
