According to blockchain analytics platform DappRadar, user activity in artificial intelligence (AI)-based DApps has significantly increased and may soon compete with gaming and DeFi platforms.
Growing Popularity of AI-Based DApps
In April 2023, AI-based DApps accounted for 16% of the total unique active wallets, up from 11% in February. Gaming and DeFi platforms remain at 21%. DappRadar analyst Sara Gherghelas noted that the growing interest in AI tools contributes to the strengthening of AI DApps in the decentralized ecosystem.
Top Projects in the AI DApps Space
Among the most popular AI DApps is a project called LOL, which allows users to send voice recordings of laughter for token rewards. In second place is Dmail Network, and the top three is rounded out by World.Fun, a platform for deploying AI agents.
Overall State of DApps and Prospects
In April, social DApps also saw an 18% increase in activity, reaching 3.6 million unique active wallets. Amid market fluctuations, DApp activity remains stable, with 23 million active wallets in April, slightly down from February figures. Gherghelas added that this situation confirms that utility and hype around AI and memecoins are key drivers of user engagement.
Given the growing interest and activity, AI-based DApps may become an important part of the future of Web3, drawing attention from both developers and users.
