The smart contracting platform Avalanche has introduced a new crypto-powered Visa card that allows users to spend cryptocurrencies both online and offline.

Avalanche is bridging traditional finance and DeFi with its new crypto-powered payment system. The card enables holders to spend digital assets such as USDC, WAVAX, and SAVAX without converting them into fiat currencies wherever Visa is accepted.

Card Details and Functionality

According to the official website, the Visa card will be offered by the fintech company Rain Liquidity in both online and physical versions. Cardholders will also receive a new self-custody wallet with unique addresses for each asset connected to their accounts, allowing them to deposit funds and use digital assets for purchases and services. Interested parties can join the waitlist via the Avalanche Card website.

Usage Restrictions and Conditions

The card is not insured by the FDIC, and its activities will not be reported to credit bureaus. It's available to residents of Latin American and Caribbean countries but not accessible to citizens of countries like Cuba, Russia, and others.
