AWS announced the development of the In-Row Heat Exchanger (IRHX), designed for high-performance computing tasks utilizing Nvidia GPUs. These chips are among the most power-hungry, and traditional cooling systems have struggled to meet their demands. The IRHX effectively removes heat from tightly packed servers, using chilled liquids circulated close to server rows.
New P6e Instances and Their Capabilities
AWS has introduced P6e instances that leverage the Nvidia GB200 NVL72 platform, containing 72 Blackwell GPUs in a single rack. These instances are designed to handle large AI models and generative AI tasks, thus providing cloud customers access to advanced computing solutions.
