The hacking of Ben Chow's X account, co-founder of Meteora, has intensified controversies surrounding a series of memecoins and sparked new allegations of financial misconduct.
Account Hack and Aftermath
On March 11, Ben Chow's X account was hacked, resulting in a now-deleted post accusing DefiTuna founders Vlad Pozniakov and Dhirk of orchestrating memecoin launches for financial gain. Meteora quickly flagged the message as fraudulent and urged followers to avoid engaging with shared links.
Allegations and Fake Screenshots
The post included alleged WhatsApp screenshots implicating Kelsier Ventures CEO Hayden Davis, its COO Gideon Davis, and Pozniakov in discussions about the MATES token. The authenticity of these conversations remains unconfirmed.
Company Response and Current Situation
Meteora co-founder Zen, now acting CEO, revealed that the Meteora X account was also briefly compromised but has since been secured. Investors were warned against clicking links to prevent potential financial losses.
The incident has further stirred the memecoin space, underlining the need for stronger security measures and awareness among cryptocurrency participants.
