Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, has made his first public appearance since stepping down and being released from federal custody.
Future Plans
In a social media post, Binance founder CZ shared his gratitude for support during tough times, which helped him chart a course for the future. Zhao confirmed that he would continue to invest long-term in emerging technologies, including blockchain, decentralized tech, AI, and biotechnology. CZ also mentioned his plans to devote more time to philanthropy, particularly in education. He added that his new venture, Giggle Academy, is progressing well and will become his main focus in the future. He said his future projects would aim to earn goodwill rather than profits.
Life After Imprisonment
Additionally, Binance founder CZ is working on a book, which is already two-thirds complete. He mentioned that the book would cover his experiences in the tech and crypto industries, though the title and precise content are not yet disclosed. Zhao reassured his followers that the exchange he founded is functioning well without his direct involvement, given its strong foundation.
Legal History
Earlier this year, CZ pleaded guilty to breaking the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) due to the exchange's poor KYC practices that allowed illicit activities. As part of his plea agreement, Zhao was sentenced to four months, fined $50 million, and agreed to step down as CEO. Binance agreed to pay $4.3 billion to U.S. regulators for related charges.
Changpeng Zhao is confidently moving towards the future, focusing on new technological investments and philanthropy, while also working on a book about his experiences.
