Binance has announced temporary changes to operations with altcoins DASH and TROY. The leading cryptocurrency exchange cited the need for network upgrades and user safety.
Changes for DASH
Binance announced a temporary suspension of DASH deposits and withdrawals starting January 7, 2025, to accommodate a network upgrade and hard fork at block height 2,201,472. While DASH trading will remain unaffected, the exchange advised users to complete deposits in advance.
Issues with TROY
In a separate update, Binance suspended TROY deposits as of January 2, 2025, due to security concerns with the TROY-BEP20 token contract. The exchange also halted support for TROY on the Binance Smart Chain to safeguard user assets, though other networks such as Ethereum remain active. Binance stated it is working with the project team to ensure token security.
Other Recent Binance Announcements
These updates are part of a series of announcements as Binance seeks to enhance its services. In December, the exchange confirmed its support for the Optimism network upgrade to improve scalability and user experience, and it also added SOLV token to its 'Megadrop' initiative, allocating over 588 million tokens for participants.
Binance's updates are aimed at improving platform reliability and security. However, users need to be mindful of temporary suspensions and changes in cryptocurrency operations on the exchange.
