Recently, a major Bitcoin holder relocated 10,603 BTC, valued at approximately $1.26 billion, to new addresses after years of inactivity.
BTC Transferred to New Addresses
According to information provided by Arkham Intelligence, this transaction occurred after a long period of dormancy. The Bitcoin was moved from three wallets that accumulated the asset when the price of Bitcoin was around $18,000.
Simultaneous Accumulation of BTC
All three addresses received BTC on the same day — December 13, 2020. Each of them amassed between 3,000 to 4,000 BTC. Arkham data indicates that these addresses interacted with another common address, but it remains unclear whether they belong to the same owner.
Silence Following Transfers
The new addresses to which BTC has now been transferred have not displayed any activity thus far. This raises questions about the intentions behind such transfers. Earlier this month, an address from the Satoshi era moved 80,000 BTC valued at $9.5 billion, which was also interpreted as a possible preparation for sale.
The recent actions of the Bitcoin whale raise questions about potential market manipulations and how such movements may affect the price of Bitcoin, which has been showing signs of increase lately.
