Recent developments in the cryptocurrency market have drawn attention to a major Bitcoin holder who has resumed asset transfers.
Transfer of 40,192 BTC
According to blockchain analytics firm Lookonchain, a well-known Bitcoin whale holding over 80,000 BTC has transferred 40,192 BTC worth $4.77 billion to a new wallet. This move came shortly after sending 40,009 BTC to Galaxy Digital, linked to trades on Binance and Bybit.
History of the Giant
Lookonchain first noticed the whale's activity on July 4, when it shifted assets for the first time in 14 years. At that time, the whale had eight wallets, two of which received 20,000 BTC in April 2011, while the remaining six wallets received 60,009 BTC in May 2011.
Other Major Bitcoin Holders
Among other notable Bitcoin holders, Bitcoin's creator Satoshi Nakamoto is the largest holder, with 1.096 million BTC. The Winklevoss twins, founders of the Gemini exchange, are estimated to hold around 70,000 BTC. Tim Draper, a venture capitalist, possesses about 30,000 BTC purchased at a 2014 auction.
The movements in the wallets of major Bitcoin holders highlight the dynamics of the cryptocurrency market and may indicate potential shifts in investment strategies.
