Bitnomial has announced the launch of the first CFTC-regulated XRP futures while also dropping its lawsuit against the SEC.
Launch of XRP Futures
Bitnomial has launched the world’s first XRP futures regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Lawsuit Against SEC
The firm has dropped its lawsuit against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), filed in October. Bitnomial accused the SEC of overstepping its jurisdiction, arguing that its XRP futures were not under the agency’s authority.
CME Group's Plans
In January, CME Group leaked plans to introduce XRP futures. Although this was claimed to be an error, such a product might still be in development. CME Group has already launched Solana (SOL) futures.
The launch of regulated futures and the end of legal battles have increased the odds of XRP ETF approval.
