BlockDAG has initiated its beta testnet, engaging over 110,000 verified investors along with developers and miners. This testing phase is aimed at preparing for the mainnet launch in 2025.
Large-Scale Beta Testing Begins
Over 110,000 wallets from the presale community have already been activated. Each wallet receives 10,000 testnet BDAG tokens through a smart contract that mirrors the mainnet's real vesting mechanism. CEO Antony Turner highlighted at Keynote 3 that this isn’t just a developer preview, but a full-scale rehearsal of the blockchain system with live mining, token issuance, wallet activity, and smart contract deployment.
$60,000 in Rewards for Top Performers
BlockDAG offers $60,000 in BDAG tokens for operating on the network. The campaign runs until May 31, 2025, rewarding participants for maximum activity. Prizes will go to the top 10 wallets by transaction volume, top 10 mining nodes, and top 10 wallet holders with the biggest balances. This approach allows testing of the network’s smart contracts and mechanisms under stress.
Preparing for Mainnet Launch
The testing is just the beginning as BlockDAG targets a mainnet launch in 2025, aiming for a throughput of 2,000 TPS, scaling to 15,000 TPS subsequently. This ensures support for DeFi tools that the company plans to deploy, including staking, lending, and cross-chain bridges.
The launch of BlockDAG's beta testnet marks a significant step in preparation for larger ventures. The company's unique approach to testing has become an opportunity to engage community attention and activity, demonstrating readiness of the technology and infrastructure for real-world use.
