The body of cryptocurrency influencer Kevin Mirshahi was found in Montreal several months after his abduction. The police confirmed his identity following the discovery of remains in a park.

Discovery of the Body

Kevin Mirshahi's body was found on October 30 by a passerby in Île-de-la-Visitation park in Montreal. Police confirmed his identity through an autopsy, as reported by the local news outlet The Gazette.

Background of the Abduction

Mirshahi was abducted on June 21 from a condo building in Montreal along with three other people, who managed to escape. This incident aligns with a worrying trend of abductions and murders of crypto executives and influencers, often motivated by the intention to steal or recover large sums of money.

Ongoing Investigation

The investigation into Mirshahi’s case is ongoing. In August, local police arrested a 32-year-old woman named Joanie Lepage, who was charged with the first-degree murder of Mirshahi. Known within the Montreal crypto community, Mirshahi previously operated a private investment firm called 'Crypto Paradise Island'. In 2021, he and others were banned by Quebec’s financial regulator from acting as brokers or investment advisers due to regulatory violations.

The pursuit of justice for Kevin Mirshahi continues, with investigations ongoing to uncover further evidence and testimonies related to the case.
