Botanix Labs has announced the launch of its decentralized L2 network, Botanix, providing new opportunities for Bitcoin users.
Launch of Botanix and its features
Botanix is the first and only EVM-equivalent decentralized L2 network for Bitcoin, meaning no single entity, including Botanix Labs, can unilaterally control the network. It is operated by a growing federation of leading node operators.
New applications and user opportunities
Users can now trade, lend, borrow, stake, pay, provide liquidity, and leverage Bitcoin thanks to an expanding ecosystem of applications. Among the launched applications are GMX and Dolomite, significantly improving transaction times.
Advantages of a decentralized approach
With the transition to governance and consensus among 16 independent node operators, Botanix has become the first secure and decentralized Bitcoin network since its inception. As noted by Botanix Labs CEO, Willem Schroé, ‘We built Botanix to give Bitcoin real utility without compromising on self-custody.’
The launch of Botanix and the concept of Bitcoin 2100 open new horizons for Bitcoin users, offering decentralized solutions that align with the core principles of the cryptocurrency.
