In the aftermath of a $1.4 billion hack, Bybit has launched an offensive against the Lazarus Group, the suspected masterminds behind the breach.

Bybit Declares War on Lazarus Group

Bybit introduced a wallet API to trace funds linked to the exploit and announced a bounty for blockchain sleuths to aid in asset recovery.

Addresses associated with the Bybit exploit were identified and available to screen within just 30 minutes of the announcement, protecting customers without the need for them to conduct repetitive manual checks.None

The Battle for Recovery

Bybit engaged ZeroShadow and Chainalysis to investigate and reclaim stolen funds. Hackers employed a phishing campaign and converted assets into various cryptocurrencies.

Bybit’s Resilience Amid Crisis

Despite the heist, Bybit remains operational, keeping withdrawals open and securing external liquidity through loans. The investigation continues with new addresses identified daily.
