Can Staking Attract Larger Investments to ETH ETFs?

Crypto researcher Tom Wan believes that enabling staking for spot Ethereum ETFs could increase their appeal and attract new investors.

Current Performance of ETH ETFs

Currently, the AUM for ETH ETFs is only about 10% of what Bitcoin ETFs hold. This represents a significantly lower percentage compared to Ether’s market cap, which is 23% of Bitcoin's. Wan believes enabling staking could solve this problem.

Staking Potential for ETH ETFs

Staking could provide Ethereum ETFs with a unique yield proposition as a differentiator. Asset managers like 21Shares and Bitwise have already implemented staking-enabled ETFs in Europe, offering zero or low management fees.

Impact on Ethereum and Market

Ether is experiencing a positive trend following recent political events. Increased ETH participation in staking is expected, contributing to the ecosystem’s growth and stability.

The potential for staking in ETH ETFs could significantly enhance the product's appeal to retail and institutional investors, increasing Ethereum ETF's overall market share.
