The project is being developed on Redstone, a layer-2 network for on-chain autonomous game worlds, which is based on Optimism technology. EVE Token will be minted on Ethereum and serve as a utility token. There will also be LUX Token, which will be used for in-game transactions.

Tokens will serve as a way to reward and support developers contributing to the game world. Eve Frontier is being developed using CCP's proprietary Carbon game engine, which will be open source.
