Renowned crypto entrepreneur Changpeng Zhao has fulfilled his promise by allocating 500 BNB each to the nations of Myanmar and Thailand, both affected by recent earthquakes. According to BSC Scan data, the donation of $598,025 took place on April 3.
Binance Charity Initiative
On March 31, Binance Charity announced an initiative to distribute up to $1.5 million worth of BNB to Binance users in affected areas of Myanmar and Thailand. The funds are expected to reach users by April 14, using identity verification and Proof of Address mechanisms.
Impact and Prior Donations by Zhao
Shortly after Zhao announced his donation, BNB's price slightly fell by 0.68%. Earlier this year, Zhao also donated 150 BNB to victims of the LIBRA scam and helped traders affected by the crash of TST and BROCCOLI memecoins.
