Changpeng Zhao's Portfolio
Zhao, co-founder of Binance, revealed on Binance Square that almost his entire portfolio is made up of BNB, specifically 98.5%. The rest of his assets include 1.32% in Bitcoin and small allocations in stablecoins EURI (0.17%) and USDT (0.03%). He also holds sBTC but is unaware of its origin or how to rid of it.
Reaction to the Disclosure
Zhao's post was in response to an X user request to showcase his trading profile. In light of unexpected data revealing a small allocation to Bitcoin, Zhao explained his strategy. One of the more puzzling holdings, EURI, might be linked to an old Binance Card feature, though Zhao is uncertain about it.
Recent Events and Rumors
Shortly after the portfolio disclosure, Zhao inadvertently sparked a memecoin speculation wave when he mentioned his dog's name, Broccoli. This event led to the creation of numerous Broccoli-themed tokens. In addition, Zhao dismissed rumors regarding the potential sale of Binance, attributing them to misinformation spread by an Asian competitor. Co-founder Yi He supported Zhao's statements, noting that Binance is more interested in acquisitions than in selling.
Changpeng Zhao's disclosure of his portfolio composition has garnered attention, highlighting his significant trust in BNB. Despite rumors, he has managed to maintain his reputation by assuring the public of Binance's market position.
