In an interview with investor Anthony Pompliano, CIA representative Jayellis talked about Bitcoin's potential as a means for payments and information gathering.

Bitcoin as a Tool in Fighting Crime

Jayellis emphasized that, contrary to popular belief, Bitcoin is not anonymous but pseudonymous. This makes it traceable and useful for tracking fraudsters and criminals. The CIA actively collaborates with law enforcement to monitor crypto-related activities associated with terrorist groups, drug cartels, and hostile regimes.

Competition in Technology and Intelligence Gathering

Jayellis positioned Bitcoin within a broader context of technological competition, especially with adversaries like China. He noted that the CIA is working to ensure the U.S. remains a global leader in the crypto space, utilizing blockchain intelligence tools to monitor adversaries and gather critical data.

Cryptocurrency and National Security

Jayellis also tied the CIA’s focus on crypto to a broader national agenda: the dismantling of international cartels. He stated that the agency was fully aligned with President Trump’s directive to eliminate cartel threats and that crypto intelligence would play a role in achieving that goal.

Thus, Bitcoin is seen as an important tool for ensuring national security and combating international crime. Joint efforts of law enforcement and intelligence agencies are utilized to monitor and eliminate threats.
