Cipher Mining, a Texas-based company, has made significant strides in expanding its presence in the bitcoin mining industry through strategic agreements with Canaan and Bitmain. The deal with Canaan involves a preorder for 6,600 Avalon 1566 miners valued at $16.4 million, each offering a hashrate of 185 TH/s at a price of $13.12/TH. These miners are expected to be delivered in batches between October and November. Moreover, Cipher has the option to procure additional miners at the same price or at a premium if newer models are introduced, extending until June 30, 2025. Furthermore, Cipher's revised preorder with Bitmain has expedited the shipment of Antminer units. Originally ordering 37,396 Antminer T21 units for $99.5 million, Cipher will now receive 30,364 Antminer S21 Pro units totaling 6.07 EH/s for $134 million, equating to $22/TH. Delivery of the Antminer units is scheduled for September and October this year. These developments are set to boost Cipher's proprietary hashrate to 13.5 EH/s by the end of the year, achieving an efficiency of 18.6 J/TH. This expansion underscores Cipher as a key player in the bitcoin mining landscape, utilizing advanced technology for operational enhancement.
