Coinbase has reported a significant reduction in user account freezes. This step marks a crucial improvement in customer service.
Issue of Account Freezes
Coinbase has cut down on user account freezes by 82%. CEO Brian Armstrong stated that account freezes had been a serious issue that frustrated users. His prioritization of resolving these issues was announced on the platform X.
Improvements from the Product Team
Brian Armstrong credited product team member Dor Levi for his role in addressing the problem. Levi explained that ‘significant investments’ in machine learning models improved system precision, which led to fewer freezes.
Future Plans and Security Measures
Despite improvements, Coinbase representatives noted that some accounts would still need to be locked in accordance with court or legal requirements. The team will continue to enhance user experience and data security, especially following the incident in December 2024, where hackers accessed the data of 70,000 customers.
Coinbase is actively working to improve user service and security, aiming to regain trust and enhance overall service quality.
