Coinbase has announced upcoming support for perpetual futures trading for Aerodrome Finance, Beam, and Drift Protocol, expanding its offerings on the platform.
New opportunities on Coinbase
Perpetual futures trading for Aerodrome Finance (AERO), Beam (BEAM), and Drift (DRIFT) will be available on Coinbase International Exchange and Coinbase Advanced starting January 16, 2025. The assets are expected to go live after 9:30 a.m. UTC.
How perpetual futures work
Perpetual futures offer contracts where traders can speculate on changes in the price of cryptocurrencies or other assets. Unlike standard futures contracts, perpetual futures do not have an expiration date.
Prospects of crypto assets
Following Coinbase's announcement of new futures, prices of Aerodrome Finance, Beam, and Drift saw slight increases, although earlier losses were reflected by the end of the trading session. Aerodrome Finance offers a decentralized exchange on the Base platform, Beam presents a gaming network supported by BEAM tokens, and Drift functions as a decentralized exchange on Solana, allowing users to engage in trading and predictions.
The expansion of supported futures on Coinbase's platform may positively impact the development of these cryptocurrencies and increase their trading availability.
