In H1 2025, companies actively purchased Bitcoin, indicating a shift in attitudes toward digital assets in business.
Growth of Corporate Bitcoin Purchases
In the first half of 2025, public companies bought a total of 245,510 BTC, more than double the 118,000 BTC acquired by ETFs. This marks a 375% increase from the same period in 2024.
Change in Strategic Approach
Previously, Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) dominated corporate Bitcoin purchases, accounting for 72% of all acquisitions. However, in H1 2025, its share dropped to 55%, even though it still acquired 135,600 BTC.
Impact on Bitcoin Market
Corporate treasuries now outpace ETFs in net BTC acquisition, potentially affecting price stability and long-term value of Bitcoin. However, risks remain as many companies use leverage, which could lead to financial strain if prices dip significantly.
The rise in corporate Bitcoin purchases illustrates institutional confidence and long-term commitment to digital assets.
