Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com has announced the opening of a new office in Washington D.C., marking a significant step in its strategy to expand its presence in the U.S.
Expansion of U.S. Operations
Crypto.com has opened a new office in Washington, situated near the White House, highlighting the company's efforts to strengthen its position in the American market. Matt David, President of North America and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Crypto.com, stated: "With a maturing regulatory environment under the current Administration’s leadership, building out our presence and workforce in the nation’s capital will support our collective efforts in responsibly advancing our business and the sector."
Partnership with Trump Media
The opening of the office in Washington was accompanied by active collaboration with Trump Media, with which they created a suite of crypto ETPs expected to debut this year. CEO Kris Marszalek has built ties with President Trump and participated in the White House Crypto Summit in March.
Regulatory Outcomes
The opening of the Washington office was made possible after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) formally closed its investigation into Crypto.com in March without bringing any charges. This event has created a more favorable environment for the company in the U.S.
Crypto.com's expansion and the opening of a new office in Washington reflect positive changes in the U.S. regulatory environment for cryptocurrency companies, as well as active efforts to establish connections with local authorities.
