The CoinMarketCap report for Q2 2025 highlights a significant change in the crypto landscape, focusing on stablecoins and real-world assets.
Shift Toward Fundamentals
The research indicates that the combined market cap of stablecoins reached $247.9 billion. USD1 showed the largest increase, rising from $57 million to $2.2 billion due to its Binance listing and investment from MGX. USDT also strengthened its position with a $14.1 billion market cap increase.
Surge of Real-World Assets
The real-world assets (RWAs) market also showed growth. As of June 29, more than 88% of tokenized assets were concentrated in two categories: private credit and U.S. Treasury debt. The $10 billion mark was achieved largely due to Figure's activities on the Provenance blockchain, while tokenized Treasuries totaled $7.38 billion.
Maturing Market and New Trends
The U.S. user share on CoinMarketCap increased from 18.9% to 21.7%, fueled by Bitcoin ETF developments and Circle's IPO. The shift towards foundational sectors like RWAs and stablecoins signifies an evolving landscape where infrastructure is taking center stage.
Thus, the CoinMarketCap report shows that the cryptocurrency market is leaning toward more sustainable and long-term assets, which may stabilize the sector in the future.
