The Capital Markets Board (CMB) of Turkey has updated information on cryptocurrency platforms in the country, showcasing active and liquidated companies.
Changes in Cryptocurrency Company Landscape
Following the June 30 deadline for license applications, new names have been added to the liquidation list, raising the total number of liquidating platforms to 45.
New Market Players
In the updated list of active companies, 60 players remain, among which are prominent Turkish banks such as Akbank, Garanti Bank, İş Bank, and Yapı Kredi that have applied for cryptocurrency custody licenses.
Restrictions on Certain Platforms
The CMB imposed restrictions on 10 cryptocurrency service providers, including Arbitex and MEXC, prohibiting them from accepting new clients until further notice. "At our Board meeting, it was decided that the relevant Platforms would not accept new customers until further notice" (CITE_NA).
