The decentralized finance platform DeltaPrime has issued a deadline to the hacker responsible for a $4.8 million theft, threatening legal action if a response is not received.
Ultimatum for the Hacker
On November 11, 2023, DeltaPrime was targeted in a hack that resulted in $4.8 million in stolen funds. On November 13, co-founder Gavin Hasselbaink issued a statement on X demanding the hacker engage in a dialogue by November 14, 8:00 AM CET, under threat of legal pursuit.
DeltaPrime's Response and Actions
Following the breach, DeltaPrime sent an on-chain message to the hacker proposing discussions for fund recovery. However, the hacker has yet to respond. The protocol emphasized its priority of 'safe fund retrieval,' assuring the hacker of commitment to their anonymity.
Details of Previous Attacks
This is the second hack targeted at DeltaPrime; the previous incident in September 2023 led to a $6 million loss, where attackers exploited weak private key security to access and drain the project’s vulnerable contract.
DeltaPrime has given the hacker until November 14 to return the funds; otherwise, the incident will be treated as criminal, prompting the company to take appropriate measures. Previously, DeltaPrime encountered similar attacks but managed to address vulnerabilities.
