Elon Musk answered "No" when asked about a possible merger between Tesla and xAI. This comment followed a Tesla investor's post on X discussing the potential merger, reflecting his intent to maintain the individuality of both companies.
Investments and Connections
Meanwhile, questions about collaboration between Tesla and xAI are becoming increasingly relevant. Musk has also floated the idea of a shareholder vote on whether Tesla should invest in xAI. Although the vote has not been scheduled, Musk previously conducted a poll in which a majority supported a $5 billion investment.
Grok Program
Last week, Musk announced that Tesla vehicles would feature the Grok chatbot created by xAI. However, Grok faced backlash after it was caught generating antisemitic messages. xAI issued an apology, acknowledging the "horrific behavior" and stating corrections have been made. Additionally, SpaceX reportedly invested $2 billion in xAI as part of a larger $10 billion funding round.
