The lawsuit filed by Musk accused the artificial intelligence company of deviating from its primary objective of advancing AI technology for the betterment of society rather than financial gain.

In a surprising turn of events, Musk's legal team sought the withdrawal of the breach of contract lawsuit against OpenAI and Altman without prejudice. This development was documented in court records on June 11 at the San Francisco Superior Court. The dismissal without prejudice indicates that Musk retains the option to revisit the legal action in the future.

The timing of Musk's decision to retract the lawsuit was crucial, preceding a federal judge's pending ruling on the case's dismissal or progression to the next stage, as per earlier court filings.
