Analysts from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) have put forward the idea that the European Union should establish a new company dedicated to advancing the metaverse, a new virtual reality world. Drawing parallels to Airbus, the successful aerospace company created from merging businesses across Europe, they believe that Europe could outpace other nations like the United States and China in shaping the future of virtual worlds and the internet. The report highlights Europe's strong technological expertise and economic power as key assets in taking the lead in this burgeoning sector.

Established in 2000 through the consolidation of airplane companies from France, Germany, and Spain, Airbus has achieved global dominance in the aircraft and helicopter manufacturing industry. Analysts propose that replicating this model in the metaverse realm would help Europe maintain competitiveness.

The report underscores the importance of forming a transnational "industrial cluster" focused on the metaverse to cultivate specialized internet skills within Europe and enhance educational programs related to this field. Several major European brands, including BMW, Ikea, and Ericsson, are already involved in metaverse projects, signaling the region's commitment to this innovative technology.
