The release of a highly awaited validator client, Firedancer, has marked a significant milestone on the Solana (SOL) blockchain. Solana, known for its meteoric rise since October 2023 when it surged to $210 by March 2024, is now introducing Firedancer, a unique bug bounty program initiated by Jump Crypto in collaboration with Immunefi.
Firedancer's tenure spans 42 days, commencing from July 10 to August 21, 2024. This innovative program offers Solana developers a lucrative opportunity to earn rewards of up to $1 million by identifying bugs in the standalone validator client, christened 'Firedancer v0.1', set to launch this week.
Firedancer v0.1 beckons bug hunters with a promising $1,000,000 bounty for discovering vulnerabilities within the system. Assuring prompt responses, the Firedancer team commits to addressing all bug reports within a 24-hour window. Following the conclusion of the program, Immunefi plans to unveil an event-specific leaderboard and share comprehensive bug reports gathered during the event.
Moreover, Anatoly Yakovenko, the co-founder and CEO of Solana Labs, has highlighted the potential of Firedancer to enhance the network's speed. Despite a 36% decline from its peak value of $210 in March 2024, Solana maintains a current trading price of $133.
