Design software company Figma has disclosed its financial investments in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, reflecting a growing business interest in digital assets.
Figma's Investments in Bitcoin ETF
In its recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Figma reported that it owns shares in Bitcoin ETFs worth nearly $70 million. As of March 31, 2024, the value of these investments stood at $69.5 million, representing a 26% increase over the $55 million initially invested in the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF on March 3, 2024.
Company's Plans to Purchase Bitcoin
Figma also noted it holds $30 million in the stablecoin USDC, which it plans to use to buy Bitcoin. "On May 8, 2025, the Board of Directors approved an investment of $30 million in Bitcoin. The company subsequently purchased 30 million USDC at $1 per USDC for a total of $30 million," the filing states.
Previous Merger Attempts and Crypto Market Trends
In 2022, Adobe attempted to acquire Figma for $20 billion, but the deal was blocked due to antitrust concerns. As a result, Adobe was required to pay Figma a $1 billion termination fee in December 2023. Meanwhile, companies continue to increase their crypto reserves, as seen with Strategy's $531 million Bitcoin purchase.
Figma's disclosure of financial assets highlights a trend of increasing corporate interest in cryptocurrencies, which may reshape dynamics in the financial markets.
