Scroll recently announced its first airdrop, aiming to distribute 7% of the total SCR token supply among participants who have contributed to the development of Scroll’s protocol and ecosystem.

Airdrop Distribution Details

The distribution is organized into four key categories: network participation, ecosystem projects, industry contributors, and the global community.

Participant Categories

Community Participants are those who contributed through on-chain activities, mainly in Scroll’s Sessions program. Ecosystem Projects include projects built on the Scroll platform, focusing on innovation and network growth. Industry Contributors involve technical contributors, ZK researchers, and organizations supporting open-source developments in the Ethereum ecosystem. The Global Community includes event organizers, hackathon winners, and Ethereum translators.

Allocation and Timing

A total of 55,000,000 SCR tokens (5.5% of the total supply) has been reserved for community participants involved in on-chain activities. 40,000,000 SCR tokens (4% of the total supply) will be distributed proportionally among participants who accumulated at least 200 Marks by October 19, 2024. The airdrop claims can be made starting on October 22, 2024, and will remain open for 90 days.

This first airdrop reflects Scroll’s focus on recognizing the contributions of its community in a structured and transparent manner.
