Fishing Frenzy, the idle fishing sim on the Ronin blockchain, is launching Season 2 titled 'New Horizons', which includes new reward mechanics and leaderboard changes.
Updates to Reward Mechanics
The new season introduces a 'Luck' stat to fishing rods. Lucky catches can now trigger random drops like sushi, gold, or 'Lucky Chests', which open at the season's end for extra rewards.
New Fishing Zone and Game Crossover
The update features a limited-time fishing zone, Bloom Lagoon, tied to new recipes, partner pets, and collectible loot. It also includes crossover content from other Ronin-based games like Axie Infinity, Pixels, and Fableborne, with in-game items and pet drops linked to each title.
Leaderboard Changes and Stat Systems
Leaderboards have been revamped to separate VIP tiers to discourage botting. Greater emphasis is placed on leaderboard rank rather than passive battle pass grinding. Players returning from Season 1 who have spent 20+ RON or hold a Founder’s Pass will receive the Horizon Rod, which has better odds for Lucky Chest drops.
