On February 20, Franklin Templeton launched a new index ETF including Bitcoin and Ether, providing access to key cryptocurrencies.
Franklin Templeton's New ETF
The new fund, Franklin Crypto Index ETF (ticker EZPZ), is the second US cryptocurrency index ETF following Hashdex, which previously launched an index fund on Nasdaq. The EZPZ fund includes assets listed in the US CF Institutional Digital Asset Index, focused solely on Bitcoin and Ether as of February 20.
Plans to Expand the Fund
Franklin Templeton plans to expand the range of cryptocurrencies in the EZPZ fund as they are added to the underlying index, making it a comprehensive crypto investment tool for US investors. As stated by Franklin Templeton, the fund provides access to Bitcoin and Ether without the need for direct purchase.
Trends in the Crypto ETF Market
The market sees increasing filings for ETFs including altcoins like Solana, XRP, and Litecoin. Bloomberg analysts expect relatively high odds of approval for new crypto ETF filings. Moreover, Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund plans to offer a diversified crypto index portfolio.
The launch of Franklin Templeton's ETF confirms the growing interest in cryptocurrencies among major financial institutions and their pursuit of offering innovative investment products.
