Ethereum developers have announced preparations for the release of a significant network upgrade called Fusaka, scheduled for November. This upgrade aims to improve the efficiency and scalability of Ethereum.
Tentative Fusaka Hard Fork
The next significant upgrade to the Ethereum network, called Fusaka, is expected in November. This event will occur six months after the last network upgrade, Pectra. Fusaka includes 11 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), one of which, EIP-7825, aims to enhance the network's resilience against malicious actors.
Glamsterdam Upgrades
Features in the Glamsterdam hard fork will be confirmed on August 1. This update will follow Fusaka and continue the active development of the Ethereum protocol.
Proposed Network Optimizations
Developers are also considering raising the gas limit to 150 million, which would speed up testing. Ethereum also aims to reduce block time from 12 to 6 seconds, significantly improving user experience.
The planned Fusaka and Glamsterdam upgrades represent significant steps in the development of the Ethereum network, focusing on improving its performance and security. Final decisions are expected in the coming months.
