Ethereum is experiencing significant growth, with the development team announcing a new upgrade, Fusaka, aimed at enhancing scalability and network efficiency.
Launch of the Fusaka Upgrade
The Ethereum development team has scheduled the launch of the main update, Fusaka, for early November 2023. This marks the second major upgrade this year aimed at improving scalability and user experience. The next test upgrade, Devnet-3, is set to launch in two days.
What the Fusaka Upgrade Will Include
Among the proposals included in the Fusaka upgrade are EIP-7594: PeerDAS, enhancing data availability scalability, and EIP-7825: Transaction Gas Limit Cap, aimed at setting limits on gas usage for transactions. EIP-7934 is also planned, proposing a maximum block size for RLP encoding, which should reduce DDoS attack risks.
Timelines and Expectations
Before Fusaka is launched, two public testnets are scheduled for September and October. Development team members have expressed concerns over the tight deadlines and the need to complete the upgrade before the start of the Devconnect 2025 event, which will take place in late November in Buenos Aires.
The Fusaka upgrade will represent a significant milestone in the development of the Ethereum network, aimed at improving its functionality and reliability. It illustrates the active efforts of the developers and their commitment to sustainable platform growth.
