In Q1 2025, Ginakev Digital Academy (GIDA) organized a significant educational event focused on increasing digital literacy and blockchain adoption in Nigeria.
GIDA's Educational Tour
From January 25 to February 15, 2025, GIDA, in partnership with the Starknet Foundation, conducted a tour across five Nigerian cities: Kaduna, Ibadan, Benin, Anambra, and Enugu. The events gathered over 600 participants and maintained a high attendance rate of 98.71%. Each city hosted keynote speeches and panel sessions covering topics such as layer 2 scaling, kickstarting a career in Web3, and building decentralized applications.
Results and Accomplishments
Following the ChainUp Roadshows, attendees were offered scholarships to participate in the GIDA Cairo Web3 Developer Bootcamp 2.0, with a total of 172 registrations. A significant milestone was achieved as the bootcamp had its first-ever female graduate, opening new opportunities for startups and developer collaborations in the region.
Gitcoin Recognition and Future Plans
GIDA's efforts garnered international recognition through participation in the Gitcoin "Web3 for Universities" funding round in March 2025. The academy received $1,481.79 from 84 unique contributors, which will support its decentralized education mission moving forward.
GIDA continues its mission of providing free Web3 education, expanding its reach and creating new pathways for learning and innovation in Nigeria.
